GateKeeper (Visitor Management System) and Contractors Access Control Release: Slack Visit Chat Bridge

The latest GateKeeper (Visitor Management System) and Contractors Access Control release adds a Slack visit chat bridge: when a visitor or contractor checks in, GateKeeper posts a visit card to your security Slack channel and opens a thread. Messages flow both ways between the GateKeeper mobile web chat and that Slack thread.

Why Slack matters for hotel security

Front office and security teams already live in Slack for incidents, escorts, and contractor coordination. Routing visit chat into the same channel means officers do not need a second app to tell a contractor to wait at dock B — and contractors keep a simple phone web chat without joining your workspace.

How the bridge works

• On check-in, GateKeeper opens the visit team channel and posts a Slack card (company, visitors, badge, status).
• Contractor messages from the web chat appear as replies in that Slack thread.
• Staff replies in Slack sync back into the GateKeeper visit chat (labelled as staff).
• Events endpoint /api/slack/events verifies Slack signatures and ignores bot echo.

Setup

Create a Slack app with bot scopes for chat and channel history, set the Events Request URL to /api/slack/events on your GateKeeper host, invite the bot to your security channel, then paste the bot token, signing secret, and channel ID under Enterprise → Integrations → Slack.
